Based on what I’ve seen so far, I know it’s a tough period for small and medium-sized businesses.  I could well imagine that outside of slow sales, there is also the difficulties in collecting outstanding receivables.  Given the current forecast, SMEs need to begin revaluating their strategies for growth and survival.  I don’t like to hit out at my fellow entrepreneurs burning the candle at both ends, but one of the problems that some of us find ourselves in are due to complacency and waiting to do things at the last minute.  Tough times like these call for forward-thinking strategies that will help bolster your business.

In this issue, we highlight four awesome business leaders who share what it means to do things the right way.  It’s no surprise then that on our cover, Joshua Hunte exemplifies what was mentioned above.  As he heads up three companies, he shares his story with us.  Perry Walker, who won our Dazzle Entrepreneur Toolkit competition talks about his SoundSleep Program designed for chronic insomniacs.  Jameela Hollingsworth and her online business HR Boss is building something special to help persons advance in their work careers. Omar Squires, the founder and owner of Lawns and Landscapes has made an incredible leap of faith to move from the corporate world into the landscaping business.

I hope you enjoy reading this issue.  Thank you for your continued support and thanks to my team of writers, photographers, and creatives for being there for the magazine.
